Daniel (Danny) Weiss is a senior fellow at The Century Foundation focused on issues related to improving the lives of America’s children and families, and working people, and improving public understanding of the U.S. Congress.
He has nearly three decades of service on Capitol Hill and three years experience in a senior role at a national non-profit. He most recently served as chief of staff to House Speaker and Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. He previously served as chief of staff, senior committee advisor, and communications director, for Congressman George Miller, a member of the House Democratic leadership and chairman of three House committees.
In between Hill jobs, Danny was vice president for federal policy at Common Sense Kids Action, the advocacy arm of Common Sense Media. Danny’s work has centered on improving the lives of America’s children and families, increasing economic opportunity, protecting the natural environment, and stopping climate change. He started his career as a newspaper correspondent for States News Service in Washington, D.C.
