Remote Contract Podcast Editor
The Century Foundation is looking for a freelance Remote Podcast Editor to assist from mid-May to August 2021, producing a weekly podcast for a twelve-episode season. This is a contract position with possibility of extension and/or expansion and is entirely remote, with no requirement to come into an office.
In this role, the Remote Podcast Editor will be responsible for recording, editing, and mixing/finishing weekly podcasts for the time period noted above. The ideal candidate will have experience in audio editing—for podcast, radio, or other media—and must be familiar with audio editing software. They must have strong production experience, both logistically and from a process-implementation standpoint. The position will be working with the Director of Production but must be able to consult on best practices and manage personal workflow.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in audio editing and sound mixing
- Deep, proven experience editing multi-episode podcasts
- Strong production skills and the ability to advise on best practices for sound, editing, and storytelling
- Experience developing and implementing podcast production processes
- Experience fact checking and providing research assistance to podcast talent and producers, and assisting with booking relevant guests, is considered a plus
- Background knowledge or interest in public policy and poverty is considered a plus
