Last week, I argued in Foreign Policy that by intervening in Syria, “Hezbollah and Iran are risking their hard-won reputation as stewards of an anti-Israel and anti-U.S. alliance that transcends sect and nationality.” My April column in the Boston Globe looked at an emerging narrative from many in U.S. foreign policy circles that U.S. interests may be best served by allowing the war in Syria to continue.
