Tabatha Cortes is a junior at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. She is pursuing a degree in individualized study with a concentration in public education and labor, a minor in global and urban education, and a certificate in labor studies. Tabatha was a democracy coach and a chapter director at a non-profit organization called Generation Citizen. She was an organizer for NYU’s Incarceration to Education Coalition (IEC), tutored high school students, and interned at the New York City Council. She was a research assistant on a project titled Researching with Youth: Literacy, Technology, and Civic Engagement, and is interning at 1199 SEIU. At TCF, she will be working with the K–12 education team.
