Michelle Sternthal is a visiting senior fellow at The Century Foundation, working at the intersection of healthcare, consumer protection, and economic policy. Her work focuses on identifying political and policy opportunities to advance healthcare affordability and counter corporate predatory practices—including medical debt, profiteering, and claims denials.

Dr. Sternthal has spent more than twenty years leading advocacy work on healthcare and the economy, focusing on eliminating racial and ethnic health inequities. She previously served as director of government affairs at Community Catalyst, managing director of advocacy and policy at the Roosevelt Institute, and in policy roles at the Main Street Alliance and March of Dimes. 

Dr. Sternthal holds a PhD in sociology and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in social epidemiology.
