Michaela Minnis is a maternal and reproductive health policy associate at The Century Foundation, with a background in advancing global child health and youth leadership through federal advocacy, coalition management, and program development. Before joining TCF, Michaela was a global child health policy assistant at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), where she supported federal advocacy on behalf of nearly 70,000 pediatricians. In that role, she secured increased U.S. foreign assistance funding for early childhood development programs, advanced implementation of the Global Child Thrive Act, and trained medical professionals to effectively advocate for global child health.
Earlier in her career, Michaela led youth programming on reproductive and menstrual health at Georgetown Law’s Center on Gender Justice and Opportunity. She also served as a 2022 Fellow for the National Academy for State Health Policy, collaborating with Virginia’s Department of Medical Assistance Services to implement the state’s Medicaid Community Doula Program Benefit.
Michaela holds a bachelor of arts in public policy from the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.
