Meghan Binford is a staff attorney in the Unemployment Compensation Unit at Philadelphia Legal Assistance. Meghan started her career as a public defender, where she represented hundreds of clients in hearings ranging from misdemeanor motions practice to felony jury trials. Currently, she uses the skills she learned as a public defender to advocate for clients in the face of systemic barriers and unjust adjudications that might otherwise prevent them from obtaining their unemployment benefits. Meghan supports the Technical Assistance Project by researching and writing about increasing accessibility in states benefits modernization processes.
