Lina Klose became the special projects coordinator in the Unemployment Compensation Unit at Philadelphia Legal Assistance in 2021. In this role, Lina supports the unit’s advocacy efforts to improve claimant access to unemployment compensation (UC) benefits. This includes managing UCHelp.org, a statewide resource and self-help website, tracking systemic issues in Pennsylvania’s UC system, and organizing various stakeholders to provide feedback on the UC program to Pennsylvania’s Department of Labor and Industry. Lina provides administrative support to the Technical Assistance Project and researches accessible unemployment insurance benefits technology development, particularly for claimants with limited English proficiency and technology literacy.
