Jon Fish is the chief operating officer at The Century Foundation. A CPA, Jon has extensive experience as an operations and finance executive in a wide variety of nonprofit, public, and private companies. He has steered organizations through growth, transition, and turning points including the 2008 financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jon is experienced at multiple issue and program organizations, including as executive vice president CFO and CFO at The Ad Council, an organization that for over eighty years has built social impact campaigns to educate, unite and uplift people across America, and as interim CFO for the Legal Aid Society, whose criminal, civil, and, children’s divisions have aimed for justice in every borough of New York City His experience also includes positions at HBO, Martha Stewart, Retia Medical, Studio in a School, and Ernst and Young.
An Olympian, Jon was a coxswain on the 1988 US Olympic Rowing Team. Retired from competition, Jon began his nonprofit involvement and has held various board positions with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee and other nonprofit organizations.
Jon taught various courses about media production cost management at NYU for seventeen years as an adjunct assistant professor of media studies. He has also conducted team building and training exercises with corporate teams as a Coach with Team Concepts.
He holds a BS in economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, a special diploma in social studies from the University of Oxford, and an MBA from the Keller School of Management. He earned his CPA early in his career while working at Ernst and Young.
