Ijeoma Egekeze, M.P.H., is a senior fellow at The Century Foundation, where she works on issues related to maternal health and reproductive rights. Her work expands TCF’s efforts to eliminate racial and gender inequities in health care delivery and improve maternal health outcomes. Prior to joining TCF, Ijeoma served as a policy advisor in Congress, where she conducted research, staffed hearings, and drafted legislation on public health and health equity issues, including federal public health emergency response efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and Zika virus epidemic, health care coverage for prenatal and postpartum care, reproductive health equity, and workplace mental health. She has also held positions at the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General, the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues, and amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research. She earned her M.P.H. in health policy from The George Washington University, and her B.A. in English literature from Georgetown University.
