Aya Ibrahim is a visiting senior fellow at The Century Foundation. A strategist and policy expert, Aya is recognized for her leadership at the intersection of technology, economics, and national security, advising decision-makers through periods of financial instability, technological disruption, and geopolitical volatility.

During the Biden–Harris administration, she served as a senior advisor on the secretary of state’s Policy Planning Staff, the White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy, and on the National Economic Council where she led on the president’s Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights and the Digital Assets Executive Order. Previously, Aya was Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley’s senior economic advisor, overseeing her Financial Services Committee portfolio and technology and civil liberties agenda.

Aya is currently a senior fellow for economic and national security at the AI Now Institute, regularly providing economic and national security commentary to both traditional and new media outlets. She is a graduate of Swarthmore College and fluent in Arabic and Spanish.
