Anna Gu is a master’s of public affairs candidate at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas. After completing a BA in comparative studies in race and ethnicity at Stanford University, she supported research and advocacy for blended and personalized learning at the Christensen Institute. She taught in a Montessori preschool then joined the Texas Education Agency to oversee a $7 million grant for public–private prekindergarten partnerships. While enrolled at LBJ, Anna has researched how schools receive reimbursement from Medicaid with the Children’s Defense Fund, created a local government toolkit for improving the affordability of child care, and deepened her interest in how labor and education policies can work towards equity. At TCF, Anna will be working with the labor team on women’s economic justice issues.
