Aidan Reid is an English learners (EL) intern at The Century Foundation. Aidan is a rising junior at Bowdoin College, where he studies government, education, and urban studies. Aidan developed a passion for education policy while still a student in Portland Public Schools in Portland, Maine. He is fascinated by the interplay between gentrification and urban planning, and their impact on the demographics and curricula of K–12 education. Reid has experience researching district equity policy and housing affordability. At Bowdoin, he is involved with community outreach through the McKeen Center for the Common Good. He works as a student fellow specializing in academic connections, volunteers at local schools, and is involved with philanthropic development between the college and Maine nonprofits. Aidan is also active in LGBTQ+ campus initiatives and is a member of the 2022 Bowdoin Public Service cohort. At TCF, Aidan will be working with the Pre-K–12 team on research around dual language immersion and English learners.
