Join us during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 54th Annual Legislative Conference for the world premiere of the short documentary Price of Excellence.
The film investigates the historic and ongoing underfunding of Land Grant Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) through the lens of those who’ve lived it, studied it, and fought to change it. At the center is Dr. Denise Smith, of The Century Foundation, whose groundbreaking policy research sets the foundation for a film that blends archival insight, first-person testimony, and bold visual storytelling.
The film features powerful voices including acclaimed journalist Adam Harris (The Atlantic), historian Dr. Jelani M. Favors (NC A&T), policy scholar Dr. Katherine Wheatle (Equity Research Cooperative), and Congresswoman Alma Adams, founder of the Bipartisan HBCU Caucus.
A talkback will follow the screening.
