Paul Ryan Is Balancing the Budget on the Backs of the Poor
Paul Ryan’s latest budget resolution looks pretty much just like the last three he’s released. He proposes massive spending cuts that will slow an already sluggish economy. Century Foundation and Economic Policy Institute fellow Andrew Fieldhouse estimates that Ryan’s path to slower growth and fewer jobs would decrease employment by 2.0 million jobs, while reducing GDP by 1.7 percent in 2014 alone.
On Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid released a video highlighting Fieldhouse’s findings about Ryan’s budget.
According to Fieldhouse, Ryan’s economics “don’t make any sense.” We couldn’t have said it any better than that.
