The Report of the Century Foundation Working Group on Bioterrorism Preparedness,” a group of leading public health policy experts and practitioners recommend establishing national standards, bolstering the public health workforce, and building a public health system that can respond both to deliberate attacks and to daily threats to health. As concerns about terrorism, budget priorities, and containment of infectious diseases persist, this report is especially timely.
Tax Expenditures
The Century Foundation Working Group on Tax Expenditures, addresses both basic questions such as “what is a tax break” and more complex issues such as choosing between tax subsidies and direct spending. The contributing authors offer broad policy recommendations as well as numerous examples of unjustifiable tax breaks.
